Symbotanica…not a word found in any dictionary, but a name that expresses my desire to work in tandem with my clients to deliver the best possible outcome in their landscape.
A passion for plants and sustainability drives my designs. Creating beautiful and functional custom spaces for my clients and their families drives my joy.
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Part salmon, part geoduck, permanently hydrated, caffeinated and intimately familiar with Gortex and blue tarps. Wild spaces, manicured gardens and any place touched by the natural world have always been my happy place.
I've been blessed to live in two of the most beautiful and environmentally diverse spots on the planet. Southern California offers such a huge palette of native and Mediterranean climate adapted plants the garden possibilities are endless. My focus on sustainability encompasses both my planting and hardscape designs.
I take pride in designing beautiful, environmentally friendly and functional outdoor spaces for my clients.

IKEBANA is not just about sticking a flower into a vase: it is about the love and need of the artist to create beautiful forms...IKEBANA is not just about flowers, it is about the person who arranges them."
- Sofu Teshigahara, Founder of Sogetsu School
Sogetsu ikebana is a school of Japanese flower arranging that emphasizes the use of color, mass, line and space to create living sculpture. Mastery of this art form is a life long pursuit. After many years of practice and study I am proud to hold a 4th degree Teaching Certificate.
I use the art of Ikebana to hone my design skills and express my love of nature in all its variety and glory.
